Libya before the War

Libya — now in the midst of a revolution, war, and suffering — is full of warm, friendly people. At least, that was my experience when I visited. Having met a number Libyans, shared food and smiles, and been impressed by their country, I wonder how they are now … especially the children. Most of these photos were taken in Tripoli, Libya’s capital and largest city, principal seaport, and leading commercial and manufacturing center. The city has been continuously inhabited since it was founded by Phoenicians in the 7th century.
